This development is on a site which is central to Bolton. The brownfield site was formerly the home to Bolton Community College. This College been demolished by the previous landowner and stood vacant for several years. However, the ground floor construction, all basement areas and plant bases had been left in position and where possible filled with demolition rubble.
The site required extensive ground remediation and a decision was taken that all the concrete and remaining rubble would be excavated and crushed and graded for reuse. This material was laid and compacted in layers suitable for the engineers preferred ground solution for this project, Vibro-compaction.
The contract period for project site was 43 weeks. The build was completed to the then current Corporate Identity for Audi showrooms. This Dealership has a 12 Car showroom and a 19 Ramp workshop plus an MOT facility 2 x wheel alignment units and tyre changing area. There is also an independent wet/dry valet building to the rear of the site.
The project was finished on time, to a high standard and our new client was very complimentary about the quality of finish to the building and the proactive style of management we had adopted through the project.
