This site started as a greenfield site, a former farmers field, quite unusual these days. The approximate area of the site was 9 acres. The site is set alongside junction 31A of the M6 Northbound.
The works were required to bring together the two dealerships, jaguar in Preston town centre and Land Rover situated in the Brock to form one combined dealership as required by Jaguar Land Rover.
The Construction programme was 38 weeks through what was recorded as the wettest winter in Preston for years. The project was successfully completed to programme completion with a lot of hard work and creative thinking by the construction team and designers working collaboratively for our client.
The Dealership was approximately 47m x 100m comprising of an 18 Car showroom plus 2 handover bays along with a workshop of 22 Ramps plus 2 x MOT and a tyre changing unit. Within the footprint there was a large administration space at first floor level and all usual JLR facilities including three lane drive through for customer drop offs.
Externally there was a separate dedicated Smart Repair Facility and large areas of paviours and tarmacadam for Car Sales and customer/workshop parking.
The project was finished to a high standard to which the Architects invited JLR direct to come and inspect the works carried out. JLR’s audit team were highly complementary of the standard of finish.
