Client: The Self Storage Company
Contract: Self Storage
The project comprises conversion of a former cinema building into a self-storage facility.
Fixtures and fittings have been removed previously and the building has been disused for several years. Part of the work will involve replacement of sloping and stepped floors in the auditoria and replacement with new concrete floors to be designed by the Structural Engineer following investigation works.
New access doors are to be inserted into the rear elevation and steel mezzanine floors internally. A new goods lift is to be installed to serve the upper floor including formation of a lift pit and shaft structure.
The roof is to be stripped of existing plant and made good including cleaning, over-sheeting areas, edge corrosion treatment, inspection and cleaning of rainwater drainage. Mechanical and electrical installations are to be reconfigured to suit the new use. Some minor works are also to be undertaken to the external areas.
